Meet Dante. He may not look it, but he’s a clever plotter. 😊
So, here’s my dear friend, Cassandra, to tell his story. Over to her!
Dante The Cat
Age: 18 (he’s a Maine Coon cat.)
Favorite toys: a laser and anything on a string!
Likes: Eating! Catnip, playing outside, car rides, mimicking birds, being patted on his head while he’s eating telling him, "Good boy, Dante!", being in a room to know what is going on, meditation and Reiki time! 😻
Dislikes: Bath time, going to the groomers, another animal in his personal space, when the bathroom door is closed.
A short story about Dante:
I had a really stressful and long day at work.
So, when I came home I started gathering my relaxing tools of music, candles, and crystals to take a hot bath to wash off the day.
I closed the bathroom door completely because I had candles and was afraid of Dante coming in near the flames.
A relaxing bath turned into Dante pawing at the door, profusely meowing at the top of his lungs like he was in danger and in severe pain!
I knew he wasn't, so I turned up the music.
All of a sudden, the meowing and pawing stopped.
And I thought, "thank goodness!"
But a few minutes later, I heard a loud bang on door with the handle moving and door popped open.
It was at this moment I realized how smart Dante was. Low and behold, he’d learned how to successfully open a closed door!
Once he was in, he was silent and nested himself on the toilet seat in my direction. Looking proud, smiling and purring.
So, I closed my eyes to continue to relax.
A short moment later, I see a light flash behind my eyelids.
So, I opened my eyes and saw Dante on the ledge of the tub with the end of his fluffy tail on fire from getting too curious about a candle!
In a split second, he slipped into the tub, not making a sound, quickly jumped out, and ran out of the bathroom in pure embarrassment.
A relaxing bath turned into the Dante show of entertainment!
The good news is he was 100% safe with no injuries. Just burnt singes on his fur on his tail.
Dante has such a beautiful coat, and a cunning personality. 😊
